A couple users on my site have Macbook Pros with Office for Mac 2011 installed. We have been able to connect Outlook 2011 to Exchange 2010 and can see the public folders, but cannot see the content of the public folders.
Any assistance will be appreciated. Device: MacBook Pro Software Suite: Office for Mac 2011 Application: Outlook 2011 Server: Exchange 2010 OS: Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Problem: Cannot view contents of Public Folders, ONLY folder names. Steps taken: 1. Confirmed that public folders and contents are visible via Outlook for Windows 2. Confirmed that public folders and contents are visible via OWA see attached image 3. Checked permissions for public folders - users have been given permissions as Editors and/or Reviewer.
IAmDH, Can you be very specific on what you are trying to achieve? I don't mind doing a little testing to help, but I don't want to do something that is unnecessary.
Hope you don't mind (You said initially that you couldn't read PF content at all from Outlook2011, and now you say you can, and that the issue is a little deeper than your initial description. That's fine and all - I just don't want to have to set something up again and test it, and then find out later that I was testing the wrong thing) So, the problem is that in a PF, while using Outlook2011, one can see individual contacts, but not DLs? Does it matter what kind of PF? Is it a general one, or a 'Contacts' PF? You just made me curious about Outlook2011 and PFs on Exch 2010 servers:-).
It's not something that one (or at least me) encounters often. MAC amd Outlook 2011 yes, PF access with the 2 preceding items - not so much. I appreciate the help. This is the deepest anyone has gotten with me and trying to solve this problem. Here goes: In Exchange 2010 we have a PF called 'Distribution Groups'.
Inside this folder there are multiple DLs. These were created in the previous Exchange (2003) and have been transferred to new and working fine. I can view the folder and lists from Windows Outlook as well as via OWA.
The problem comes when I want to view these same lists from Outlook 2011 for mac. I get as far as seeing the folder 'Distribution Groups' but none of the content. I've subscribed to folders. I've changed folder permissions. No luck with anything. Hopefully this explains my problem.
